One of the important things I experienced during my apprenticeship with Tatsuzo Shimaoka, is being exposed to the variety of effects you can get, both from applied ash glazing and from fly ash and charcoal intoduction into the woodkiln. These bottles are fired in the firemouth (Dogima) of his noborigama.
